Love this story, especially as I attended a get together last night and at least 6 of the Mums that were there were obviously making the most of their freedom and had decided to enjoy themselves, this mainly involved "unusual " dancing, mainly to Michael Jackson and let me tell you their rendition of Thriller was a sight to behold.. Unfortunately we left before the stripping! One of the joys of not drinking is watching...

Suspect the answer to that is 'neither' - I've never done the smoking thing, but I know people who have and that is probably just as harmful in the wrong hands. And there lies the rub - addictive personalities are always going to have problems, whatever the substance.

It seems to be that old British bugbear, the binge drinking - we still don't get it the way our Continental cousins do, and I suspect maybe we never will.

So, a binge drinking culture, too much money and too much time on their hands - Harry will have his hands full with that one!

In my misspent youth, I was one of those awful drunks who turn into a fighter... in retrospect, I had some serious issues that I couldn't deal with, which rose to the fore when I was drunk. I wince when I look back at some of the stupid fights I got myself into - both physical and verbal. Now, as a parent of small children, I go out partying so rarely that I'm just absurdly grateful to be out (and also, I eventually dealt with the issues), so I turn into a happy drunk that dances on tables. I MUCH prefer the new alter-ego.
